In the second, give up the dark shades with the decoration of the walls − black and brown because they are "narrowing" a space. Use the light colors for this purpose;
You can, of course, use vertical wallpaper, but the horizontal patterns on them are largely expanded the visual space;
A laminate or parquet diagonal flooring visually expands the floor.
Do not put in the room a lot of chairs, bookshelves, which you will not use. Also, do not hang too many pictures as they will be hiding the wall, and hence the space too.
